GIF’s 256-color palette is a severe limitation for professional imaging workflows. Converting to TIFF expands the color depth to full 24-bit (16.7 million colors) and stores the result losslessly. GIF is limited to 256 colors
Best for logos, icons, and line art. Photos produce stylized results.
BMP files are uncompressed and can be very large. Consider TIFF (LZW) or PNG for lossless with smaller file sizes.
