Why Convert TIFF to ICO?

TIFF isn't supported on the web. If your design assets are in TIFF format and you need a favicon, this converter handles the format translation and multi-size generation.

How to Convert TIFF to ICO

1

Upload your TIFF image (square recommended for favicons).

2

KoalaPic generates a multi-resolution ICO with 16px through 256px sizes.

3

Download and deploy as your website's favicon.ico.

💡

Quality Note

TIFF's high quality means excellent source material for favicons. The image is resized to standard ICO dimensions with anti-aliasing for clean results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. ICO stores 32-bit colour including an alpha channel, so an alpha layer in the TIFF is preserved rather than flattened. A TIFF without transparency simply produces an opaque icon.

One multi-resolution file holding 16×16, 32×32, 48×48 and 256×256 pixel versions, so Windows can select whichever fits a taskbar, a file listing or a large desktop tile.

Rarely without cropping. Scans usually hold a full page or photograph, and at 16×16 pixels only one bold shape survives. Crop to a logo or symbol first, then convert that.

No. ICO entries are square, so a rectangular TIFF is fitted onto a square canvas. Crop to 1:1 beforehand if you want to control what stays in frame.
