Convert RAF to GIF — Quick Previews
RAF is Fujifilm's RAW format, holding 14-bit sensor data per channel. GIF is the opposite extreme — 256 colours total — which makes it useful for a quick preview and unsuitable for the photograph itself.

Why Convert RAF to GIF?
GIF's 256-colour ceiling is severe for photographs, but the files are small and every system on earth displays them. It suits a contact sheet or a quick look, not a delivery. Note that most Fujifilm X bodies use an X-Trans colour filter array rather than the Bayer pattern everyone else uses, so RAF files need a different demosaic to resolve correctly.
How to Convert RAF to GIF
Upload your RAF file by dragging it in or clicking to browse.
The RAW is decoded and quantised to a 256-colour palette with dithering.
Download the GIF. It will be small, and visibly coarser than the original.
Quality Note
Reducing a 26–40 MP photograph to 256 colours is a large loss. Dithering hides some of it as fine grain, but skies and skin tones band visibly. Use GIF for previews only.
