RAF files from Fujifilm cameras are photographic sensor data, and SVG describes shapes. Tracing one produces stylised vector artwork rather than a faithful copy — useful for posters and cutting machines, not for reproduction.

Lossless format — files can be large
GIF is limited to 256 colors
Best for logos, icons, and line art. Photos produce stylized results.
BMP files are uncompressed and can be very large. Consider TIFF (LZW) or PNG for lossless with smaller file sizes.

Why Convert RAF to SVG?
An SVG stays sharp at any size, which no raster conversion can offer. Tracing a photograph is a stylistic choice: it flattens tone into shapes. Note that most Fujifilm X bodies use an X-Trans colour filter array rather than the Bayer pattern everyone else uses, so RAF files need a different demosaic to resolve correctly.

Quality Note
Tracing reduces continuous tone to a finite set of filled paths. Detail is lost by design; what you gain is a file that scales without limit. Text-heavy or highly detailed frames trace poorly.
