Convert GIF to BMP — Legacy Format Swap
GIF and BMP are both legacy formats from different eras of computing. Converting GIF to BMP expands the color depth from 256 colors to full 24-bit color and stores the result without compression. This is occasionally needed when legacy software supports BMP but not GIF.

Why Convert GIF to BMP?
Both GIF and BMP are legacy formats, but some older software supports one and not the other. BMP provides raw uncompressed pixel data at 24-bit color depth, which some embedded systems and industrial equipment require. Note that only the first frame of animated GIFs is converted.
How to Convert GIF to BMP
Upload your GIF file by dragging it into the converter or clicking to browse. Files up to 50 MB are supported.
KoalaPic extracts the first frame, expands to 24-bit color, and saves as uncompressed BMP.
Download the BMP file. Both files are deleted after 1 hour.
Quality Note
Only the first frame of animated GIFs is converted. Color depth expands from 256 to 24-bit (16.7 million colors), but no new color detail is created — the original 256 palette colors are simply stored in a wider color space.
