Best for logos, icons, and line art. Photos produce stylized results.
BMP files are uncompressed and can be very large. Consider TIFF (LZW) or PNG for lossless with smaller file sizes.

Why Convert JPG to GIF?
GIF format is required by some legacy CMS platforms, older email systems, and specific messaging services. The 256-color quantization with Floyd-Steinberg dithering produces acceptable results for simple images. For screenshots, diagrams, and graphics with limited colors, GIF can actually produce smaller files than JPG.
